From A to Z. The Photographic Collection of the Ruhr Museum, Part 1

24th October 2011 until 2nd September 2012

Daily from 10 am to 8 pm

Gallery exhibition of the Ruhr Museum

A museum archive as treasure trove: the exhibition "From A to Z. The Photographic Collection of the Ruhr Museum" enables remarkable and exciting insights into the region's largest photographic collection. From A like "Anfänge" (German: Beginnings) to "documentation", "genre" and "Inszenierung" (German: production) until Z like "Zerfall" (German: decay) - visitors can see not-raised treasures and surprising finds from the Museum's one-hundred-year tradition. At the same time the exhibition pays attention to the way people and the media use this memory of pictures.

The exhibition takes place in two parts that are held one after the other at the 21m level in the gallery of the Ruhr Museum.
